A local Primary School commissioned me to
make them a 'Friendship Bench' for their pupils.
This is there logo...

...and this is my interpretation of it.
It's made of Green Oak, so will mellow
into a silver grey colour over time.

I routed the School's Moto into the shield
"Caring & Learning Together",
and although it's hard to see here, the jumping
deer is routed into the central triangular panel

The bench was definitely of solid construction!
Approx 4ft wide x 25 inches deep & 13 3/4 inches high.

My Jimagination Creations are mainly commissioned based, so if while browsing through the images you see something you like, contact me (jimaginationcreations@yahoo.co.uk) and I could make something similar for you. I don't like to put prices on the images I post as they could be other peoples commissions, so again contact me if you are thinking about investing in a unique piece of bespoke woodwork.

Some of the pieces I create are gallery pieces and can be found at the Cowhouse Gallery in Perranuthnoe, Cornwall or in the Harbour View Gallery in Porthleven, Cornwall - always worth a look!
This is a small turned pot of Ash
with Celtic designs pyrographed on it.

A turned jewellery box of Ash with Walnut

velvet lining and a red ribbon lid pull.

The bespoke Oak shelves and
Oak cabinet in situ and in use!

With the amp in its home on the left,
some glasses on the pull out shelf to the right,
and the feature bar fully stocked!

Fitting the Oak Cabinet (as seen in earlier posts)
- this is the gap it was designed to fit into...

The bespoke Oak shelves that hang above the cabinet.
They have a depth of 10".

The Oak cabinet finally in place - a snug fit!

All in place and matching the existing Oak fireplace

A bandsaw flower jewellery box made of Elm
with a coloured Ash trumpet and stamen

The lid is held in place by magnets and due to
opposed polarities will only fit in place one way.
The inside is lined with black velvet.

There will be more pictures of the oak cabinet when it is in-situ. It also has a solid oak shelf system above it. Again pics when its all in place!

The upper middle compartment is the bar!

It has its own light system with a mirror in the back...

All the drop down doors have brass hinges and brass sliding stays.
Every door is held in place by very strong rare earth magnets
that are hidden within the frames and doors giving the illusion
of each door just hovering in place when closed.

The bar light works with a contact switch
- when the door is closed the circuit is broken and the light is off,
when the door is open the circuit completes and the light comes on.

The lower central area comprises 6 drawers
- all on full extension soft close runners.

The top pair are open for general
stationary or other bits and bobs...

...the middle pair have central divers
- the exact size to hold DVD's...

...the bottom pair of drawers are divided
into 3 sections - each the exact size for CD's

Both lower left & right hand compartments
have a single adjustable shelves...

...on brass shelf pins

My largest commission to date -
a solid oak cabinet

Right hand upper compartment for storing glasses
a pull out shelf for smaller tumblers,
the larger space underneath for taller glasses.

The shelf is on full extension soft close runners.

The left hand upper compartment
is open to house a hi-fi system.

A photo album/scrapbook for a pair of travellers who
recently did a tour of Australia - hence the Oz theme!

marked corresponding to places these travellers visited

...wooden hinges with metal pins

...signed (as all my pieces are) with Jimagination Creations,
with aboriginal style borders

This Utile jewellery box has Ash inlays on each panel,
a brass catch on the front...

...brass quadrant hinges and a lift out tray for small items.

A ring tower made of Utile with Ash
inlays that cross over the top.
Also has black velvet linings in each of the 4 tiers.

Made from reclaimed Mahogany and features 5 black
velvet lined drawers (the middle one has ring inserts),

The feet and handles are solid brass to compliment the Mahogany.

A toy box for 'Eva'.
Made of Ash

As this is a girls toy box I added some extra details
- the two daisies on either side of her name. Nice.

A commissioned piece.
This is a 'Tangram' - a puzzle.

A 10" square made up of 7 pieces
- Ash, Iroko, Utile & Zebrano,
set in a solid Oak framed base

The challenge is to make different patterns
- like this cat for example. There are 100s of others.
